Hand Line by New England Hand Lines
The Barnett family of Kingston, MA makes a traditional hand line that has been used for hundreds of years off the coastal towns of New England. Hand lines like these were used to catch ground fish such as flounder with a baited hook and weight. Additionally, they were used to jig up mackerel, cod, haddock, pollock or squid with artificial lures and jigs. Crabbing at the local pier or by boat is another use.
These tools work as great as they did a century ago. These are hand crafted from 3/4" oak and will last for decades. Get one for the kids, the kayak, or for some old school fishing fun!
We are proud to offer this locally crafted product; especially considering the important place the simple hand line has in our local history!
