Returns Policy

We have a 30-day return policy, meaning you have 30 days after receiving your item(s) to request a return authorization. 

All returns are subject to specific Returns Criteria.

Please review our list of Exceptions / Non-returnable Items prior to requesting a return authorization.

Returns Process

  1. Make sure your product(s) are eligible for being returned (see Return Criteria and Exceptions/Non-Returnable Items, below)
  2. Contact us for return authorization at returns@fishandtackle.com (see How to Start a Return, below).
  3. Ship the product(s) back to us by following the instructions we provide in your return authorization e-mail.
  4. Once we receive your product(s), we will inspect the product(s) to make sure they meet the Return Criteria and issue a return credit, accordingly. If there are any issues or problems with the returned items, we will either a) return the items to you at your expense, or b) contact you with other options or recommendations.
  5. It takes up to 10 business days after inspection to process approved returns (see Refund Reviews, Approvals and Processing Times, below)

Return Criteria

To be eligible for a return or exchange, we require:

  1. The product is in the same condition that you received it, unworn and unused.
  2. The product is in its original, undamaged packaging, with all original tags and accessories.
  3. The product can be resold to other customers as a new, 1st-quality product

We understand returns are part of our business and, more importantly, part of creating a positive experience with FISH & Tackle.  We do our best to consider all requests in a fair and reasonable way.  However, we must reserve the right to determine, at our sole discretion, whether to accept product returns on a case-by-case basis, using the above criteria as our guide.

If we determine your products cannot be accepted for return, we will either return the items to you at your expense, or provide other options, if possible, depending on the situation. 

How to start a return

  1. Prior to returning any products, contact us at returns@fishandtackle.com for a return authorization.  Please provide the following information with your return authorization request:
    • Your Order #
    • The reason for your return
    • The condition of the product (a detailed description and photo is always helpful)
    • Your contact information:
      • Name
      • Phone #
      • e-mail address
  1. Once your return request is authorized, we’ll send you a Return Authorization Approval code via e-mail, with instructions on how and where to send your return.  Items sent back to us without first requesting a return authorization will not be accepted; and you will be responsible for any shipping/handling costs to return the products back to you.
  2. Returns Details:
    • We do not refund shipping/handling charges from your original purchase. 
    • We do not cover the cost of shipping returns back to us.
    • If your return is approved and processed you will receive a refund for the purchase price of the item being returned (plus any associated sales tax that was previously charged on that item.)
    • All refund amounts will be applied to the same credit/debit card used for the original purchase. 

Damaged or Incorrect Items
Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately at returns@fishandtakle.com if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can work with you address any issues.  If your package arrives damaged due to shipping, please take pictures prior to opening the package to help with any carrier insurance claims.

Defective Items
If you receive items that are not working properly or are defective due to manufacturing issues, please contact us at returns@fishandtackle.com.  We will either help you with the manufacturer’s warranty process; or we will provide a return authorization with instructions for returning the products to us.

Exceptions / Non-returnable Items
Certain types of items are not returnable or refundable:

  • Any discounted products (purchased “On Sale”, "Clearance" or as part of a “Sale Event”, or below our normal retail prices)
  • Items purchased with a FISH & Tackle gift card
  • Special order products (item we don't normally carry, but ordered at your request)
  • Products that have been rigged or modified specifically for your order (spooled fishing reels, rigged products, etc.)
  • Products that are not in suitable condition for resale as a 1st-quality product (damaged, damaged packaging, missing accessories, missing tags, etc.)

Exchanges

The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is approved, make a separate purchase for the new item.  Please note, approving the return does not guarantee the return will be processed once we have received it back (see Return Criteria, above.)

Alternatively, you can follow the return process described above, await approval and refund processing, then process an order for the preferred item.

Reviewing Returns, Issuing Approvals and associated Processing Times
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return. If approved, we'll process a refund back to your original payment method within 10 business days of having received the return. Please remember it can take some additional time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund. If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please contact us at returns@fishandtackle.com.
