Black Magic - Predator Pilchard

The Black Magic Predator Pilchard is a compact pusher-style trolling lure designed to run straight and consistently across a wide range of offshore conditions. Its versatile profile makes it a dependable option for targeting marlin, tuna, and other pelagic species as part of a conventional trolling spread.

The pusher-style head produces a tight wiggling action as the lure tracks behind the boat, adding movement to the skirt while maintaining a controlled presentation. A longtime favorite of angler Bruce Martin, the Predator Pilchard has been used successfully for blue marlin, striped marlin, and multiple tuna species.

Black Magic recommends fishing the Predator Pilchard from the Shotgun or Long Rigger positions, where its straight-running action can work effectively farther back in the spread. A 9/0 hook and 300 lb leader are recommended as a starting point when rigging the lure for offshore trolling.
