FUDO Hooks - Sta-Stuk Kona Cut Point

The FUDO Hooks Sta-Stuk Kona Cut Point is a patented big-game trolling hook system designed to reduce the leverage created by a traditional fixed hook shank under load. Developed from a concept by Release Marine founder Sam Peters, the Sta-Stuk incorporates a separable hook design intended for offshore trolling applications, including Blue Marlin fishing.

The Sta-Stuk system consists of a FUDO hook body with welded rings, an inner sleeve, and an outer sleeve. During rigging, the welded rings are aligned with the slots in the sleeves before the sleeves are carefully compressed together with needle-nose pliers to create the assembled hook system.

Under a specified amount of pressure, the Sta-Stuk system is designed to separate at the sleeve connection. This shortens the effective lever created by the hook shank and reduces rotational torque on the hook during use. The design has undergone field testing in offshore fisheries including Cape Verde, Costa Rica, and the United States.

Protected by U.S. Patent No. 10,405,529, the Sta-Stuk combines FUDO's Kona Cut hook profile with its patented sleeve-and-ring system to provide a specialized rigging option for big-game trolling applications.
