Hawaiian Malolo - Trolling Bird Teaser

Hawaiian Malolo Bird Teasers was founded in 2020 and built on a deeply rooted love and passion for pelagic fishing. The two founders, Kydd Pollock and Greg Moss, collectively have decades of fishing experience and making lures.

Many companies manufacture saltwater pelagic trolling attraction devices but we wanted to take it one step further and customize a bird teaser that would attract more fish. Kydd and Greg joined forces to further develop the Hawaiian Malolo Bird Teaser by spending countless hours on the ocean testing leading edge construction materials. This has resulted in the utilization of extra tough urethane resin, polycarbonate injection molding, the most rugged rigging components that withstand the constant action of the birds and colors that send fish into a frenzy.

Kydd and Greg never rest on their laurels and continue to improve their product through working with professional gamefish captains globally. • Malolo Birds provide more tension on the line to keep the long lures from crossing over other lines on windy days while trolling perpendicular to the wind
• Malolo Birds allow you to easily see and set your long lures. You won’t have to free spool your lure then reel in quickly to make it skip to see where it is. Clip on a bird and have easy visuals on your lure positioning
• Malolo Birds allow you to troll smaller lures (4-6”) than you may otherwise by adding that extra tension to keep them in place at the back of the lure pattern. It also provides more attractiveness to those small lures when fish are shy and you need to run your lures a few waves further back than you normally would. When targeting those hard to hook fish, also try running a longer and lighter breaking strain leader on your lure as that often helps entice a bite in conjunction with the malolo bird teaser
