LT Marine - Heavy Weight Series - Two Piece Cockpit Harpoon

The LT Marine Heavy Weight Series Two Piece Cockpit Harpoon is a purpose-built offshore fishing harpoon designed for anglers targeting giant tuna, swordfish, and other large pelagic fish species. Built with a heavier configuration than LT Marine's standard commercial cockpit harpoon, the Heavy Weight Series provides additional mass for use around prop wash, current, and deeper water.

Available in 8-foot and 10-foot two-piece configurations, the Heavy Weight Series features a weighted head paired with a 6061-T6 aluminum handle. The diamond-knurled grip provides a textured surface for handling in wet marine conditions, while the true two-piece construction allows the harpoon to be broken down for transport and storage.

Each harpoon is machined, assembled, and finished by LT Marine in Connecticut using certified American-made materials. The 6061-T6 aluminum handle is available with a Mil-A-8625 Type III black hard-coat anodized finish or American Flag graphic anodized finish. A marine-grade 316 stainless steel dart shaft measures 18 inches long with a 7/16-inch diameter and is precision-turned at the end for compatibility with traditional 3/8-inch bronze harpoon darts.

Recessed head threads extend 1-5/8 inches into the assembly and are designed to provide additional support around the dart shaft connection. LT Marine's harpoon dart retention system, engineered by Laurel Tool & Engineering Co., Inc., is designed to help prevent unintended dart release if slack develops in the line.

A 316 stainless steel end cap with stainless steel eye bolt provides a dedicated attachment point for rigging. The harpoon comes pre-rigged with a stainless steel tuna dart and spliced Dyneema rope and includes a storage bag for transport and protection.
