Ross Reels - Evolution R Salt Fly Reel

The Ross Reels Evolution R Salt Fly Reel is built for demanding saltwater fly fishing where powerful fish, long runs, and harsh marine conditions put equipment to the test. Fully machined in the USA from proprietary 6061-T6 aluminum alloy, the R Salt combines a lightweight design with reinforced frame and spool geometry to deliver the strength and rigidity needed for serious freshwater, warmwater, and saltwater applications.

At the heart of the Evolution R Salt is a supercharged 16-disc sealed drag system constructed from stainless steel and carbon fluoropolymer. Capable of producing nearly 30 pounds of drag pressure, the system delivers substantial stopping power while keeping critical components protected from the elements. Dual mini counterbalances on the spool reduce rotating mass and help provide smooth, vibration-free performance when line is leaving the reel during fast, extended runs. A large, frame-integrated drag knob also allows quick adjustments with the palm of your hand during a fight.

Every detail is engineered for dependable performance on the water, from the coated stainless steel internal components to the fully machined canvas phenolic handle mounted on a 7075-T6 chromated aluminum post. Type II anodizing provides a balance of durability and finish quality, while the quick-release spool and easy left- to right-hand retrieve conversion simplify setup and maintenance.
