Shimano - Game Type J Conventional Jigging Rods

The Shimano Game Type J Conventional Jigging Rods are designed for a variety of saltwater jigging techniques, combining responsive blank construction with the strength and control needed for working jigs in both pelagic and reef environments. Available in multiple power ratings, the Game Type J series allows anglers to match their rod to different jig weights, depths, target species, and fishing conditions.

Game Type J rods incorporate Shimano's Spiral X Core and Hi-Power X blank technologies. Together, these construction methods are designed to increase blank rigidity, improve power transmission, and reduce unwanted rod twist under load. This provides a responsive platform for controlling jig movement while maintaining the strength required for demanding saltwater jigging applications.

Game Type J conventional models utilize Fuji reel seats, with Heavy power and above configurations designed to provide durability for heavier jigging applications. The series can be paired with Shimano Ocea Jigger conventional reels, PowerPro braided line, and Shimano's range of saltwater jigs to create a complete jigging setup.

• Spiral X Core – Shimano's Spiral X Core blank construction combines Spiral X carbon tape construction with Toray Nanoalloy® technology. According to Shimano, this construction provides up to 10% greater torsional rigidity and up to 15% greater compressional rigidity compared with blanks constructed with Spiral X.
• Hi-Power X – Hi-Power X construction uses diagonally wrapped carbon tape to create an X-pattern around the outer layer of the rod blank. Shimano adjusts the tape width, winding angle, and placement according to the intended rod action and application. This construction is designed to increase blank strength and resistance to twisting while maintaining responsive rod control.
