Why Use a Reel Cover?

Reel covers provide multiple layers of protection against scratches, UV Light, and water intrusion. Whether you're traveling in the car/truck with your setups, sitting in the slip, or running to the fishing grounds, these covers ensure your gear stays at the top of its game. When used properly, reel covers can save you hundreds of dollars in maintenance and service costs over time.

Scratches - Durable Neoprene protects the exterior of the reel to maintain an 'out-of-the-box' aesthetic.
UV Light - Monofilament, braid, and fluorocarbon are susceptible to damage caused by UV light. Covers protect your mainline and leader from UV Damage to maintain the full integrity of your line. When the opportunity presents itself, you can be confident that your line is at it's maximum strength.
Water Intrusion - One of the highest potential risks for saltwater reels in particular is saltwater intrusion. Salt and metal are a terrible combination for reels. If you run with your reels in the gunwale, the force of a wave hitting your reel at speed creates a tremendous amount of water pressure. The sides of the spool (inside both side-plates) are the most susceptible areas for water to blast inside of the reel. Covers allow the water to be pushed away from the reel to mitigate saltwater intrusion.

Storage:

While reel covers prevent scratches on the exterior of your reel, they can also trap moisture. After rinsing your reels, we recommend rinsing your covers as well, and waiting for both the reel, and cover to be completely dry before putting the covers on for storage. This prevents storing the reel with moisture inside the cover.
