The St. Pete 12″ Weighted Hoochie Octopus Squid Rigs come completely rigged and ready to fish. The 12″ skirt has a 3 oz. weighted head to get down deeper into the water where the fish are waiting for a meal. The perfect trolling lure for Stripers and Bluefish.

Our St. Pete 12″ Weighted Hoochie Octopus Squid Rigs come completely rigged and ready to fish. The 12″ skirt has a 3 oz. weighted head to get down deeper into the water where the fish are waiting for a meal.

They measure about 12″ in length and come with a Mustad heavy-duty saltwater-grade 7/0 stainless steel hook and two swivels. There is a swivel at the head and a second swivel at the hook, all connected with a heavy-weight 175 lb. test steel line. The swivels keep your line from twisting and help keep the ferocious fighting bluefish on the line.

Available in four different colors: Pink, Red Hot, Orange/Yellow, and Gold Glitter. Please note that colors may vary slightly.

How to Use The St. Pete Weighted Hoochie 

We recommend using roughly 10′-12′ of an 80 lb. test mono leader attached to a strong snap swivel. Then we use an 80 lb. braided line on the reels. That seems excessive but when the bluefish are hitting these Hoochies, they’re doing it with a lot of force. Be sure that your drag is set accordingly. Don’t have it too tight. You can tighten it down as needed once you’re hooked up.
