Overview:

NAUTILUS

The Nautilus is our mid-sized big fish lure in the lineup.  Its large presence in the water is very effective in covering expansive areas since it has a thick body profile that can be seen from a distance.  Capable of handling treble hooks up to 5/0, this mid sized lure is very easy to work using simple retrieves, twitches or sweeps.  Available in both slow sink/suspending and fast sink, these are a must have in your angling arsenal!

SPECIFICATIONS:

Length: 6.5 inches (165 mm)

Average weight: 4.5 ounces (120-130 grams)

TECHNIQUE:

The Nautilus Fast Sink will respond quite lively with varying rod twitches and various retrieve methods, so do a few practice casts to familiarize yourself on its versatility. This lure can be walked by twitching the rod tip imparting a side to side zig zag action, keeping the lure in the feeding zone where it is most effective. The occasional long jerk will make the lure kick wildly, making the lure swim like a fleeing baitfish.

The Nautilus lure responds well to all retrieve speeds based on your hook selection. Remember that lighter hooks allow for a livelier imparted action, while heavier and oversize hooks are perfect for trolling on a flat line.  This lure can also be used with just a single tail hook and a very slow retrieve.  This will cause the lure to undulate randomly from side to side and up and down, so do a few casts with this single tail setup to see how your retrieve speed affects action.

Troll the lure up to 6 knots using the largest hooks possible for stability.
